Happy 1st Birthday Evelyne!!!

At her 12 month well baby check her measurements were:

Height: 28 inches (10th percentile)
Weight: 20 pounds (25th percentile)
Head Circumference: 45 inches (75th percentile)

The doctor said "This girl is going to be the flyer on the cheerleading squad!" When I looked at her confusedly she explained, "Just by looking at her growth trends, she is going to be about 5'2" and 115 pounds when she's older." Oh, and apparently she has a really big brain going on in there so she is going to be a smart cheerleader ;). I'm excited to see how accurate she is on all that!

Her actual Birthday was on a Thursday so we did a little family party with just the four of us. During the day the kids and I blew up a whole pack of pink Birthday balloons and spent the day playing with them! Eve was entranced by the whole blowing up the balloon process and kept trying to do it herself!

Eventually blowing up all those balloons became exhausting and she had to take a break.

Once Daddy got home we went to the cupcake shop down the street for Birthday cupcakes!! Eve was excited to get her own cupcake and for the first time to not have to steal bites of other people's when they weren't looking.

Those thigh rolls!!! I just want to eat them!

I don't know which is more scrumptious, the baby or the cupcake!

We celebrated her Birthday party that following Saturday with all of her Aunts and Grandparents! It was a good ol' time full of laughs and love! Oh and lots of cake! I made homemade fettuccini alfredo for lunch because I figured it would be something messy Eve would enjoy :). Then we opened presents, and Eve got to destroy her smash cake!

Speaking of the cake, it was a VERY entertaining moment! Instead of blowing out the candle, she tried to grab it! If it weren't for my lightning speed reflexes she would have gotten it too! Then, she kinda stuck one finger into the cake, all lady-like.... unsure of what she was supposed to be doing. Then she flew all inhibitions to the wind and went to town on that cake!! We were laughing so hard! She literally demolished it!!

Showing her Great Grandmas how she can walk a couple steps... they were thrilled!

Giving Great Grandma Helm lots of kisses!

Attempting to get a family picture. Austin was too busy with the pin wheel Briana brought over to bother smiling for the camera.

Eve in her pretty pink party dress!

Don't you love how happy she is?!!

Grandma and Grandpa Porter bought her a new car so she can cruise around with Austin! However, Austin quickly became jealous of its newness and awesome music so I'm sure we will have many struggles in the future with this one....

"Uh, Mom? Why is he stealing MY car???" -Eve

Ready to hit the road!

As always, the men were too busy talking to bother taking a picture so here's all of us women!

Present time!

At first she was more interested in Mommy's necklace.

Then she opened a card full of money and was all about it! We laughed so hard because once she saw there was money inside the card, she threw the card at me and held onto the money like she knew exactly what it was!

New hand made dolly :).

She also got some fun books!

She took her books over to her Great Grandmas for some cuddle/reading time!

The adorable smash cake! It was so cute, I was kinda sad to see it destroyed....

Wondering what the heck she is supposed too be doing with this??

Taking her first bite...

Offering Daddy a taste.

Getting a Birthday kiss from big brother.

And then it was destruction time!!!

The final photo of what was once a Birthday cake.

 Over the past month Evelyne:

- Started sleeping throughout the night about two weeks before her first birthday!! Can I get a HALLELUJAH!!!! I am suddenly a much happier Mommy now that I'm not waking up 2-3 times throughout the night! Funny how that works haha.

- Has been walking with assistance and then about a week or two after her Birthday she started walking on her own!!

- Has been eating like a champ and is loving trying new foods now that she is at the age of being able to eat everything except peanut butter and honey! However, she starts having a hard time breathing when she eats yogurt. The doctor said milk creates a lot of phlegm and with her having a smaller than normal trachea, that blocks her airway. Therefore, she will have to take it easy with milk products. So it sounds like I will have to slowly transition her from breast milk to whole milk which is totally fine with me. Since I don't think we will be having another baby any time soon, I don't want to rush anything. I love rocking her to sleep at night as I nurse her and I don't feel like giving that up just yet.

- Is saying a couple words! She says "Hi" and waves frantically while she says it! She also loves the word "Baaa" which means bath. After dinner she gets all excited because she knows bath time is next and she starts crawling up and down the stairs, yelling "BAA! BAA!" trying to get our attention :). Whenever she is done eating she says "Dun!" (done) and she even says thank you! It sounds more like "kyuu" but we know what she is saying because she says it so perfectly in context. Like when we give her something for example :). And of course there is "Mama" and "Dada".

- Is a big fan of stairs and does a great job of navigating them! We don't even bother putting up the baby gate much anymore. We just close the doors upstairs so she can't get into trouble and let her go at it!

- Is everywhere now that she can walk! And of course she is always going in the opposite direction of Austin so I never know which kid to chase after!!

I had to take some fun pictures of this sweet girl on the morning of her first Birthday!

Chubby knees! Yes please!!!

Always watching her big brother in awe...

Having a picnic with Mom and Austin.
It was the most perfect day....

It was such a beautiful day for a picnic!

Trying to eat Mom's sandwich.

BATH TIME!!!

I'm sorry, but she is the most beautiful, squishy baby girl I have ever seen in my life! And don't get me started on all that hair!

Did I mention how much this girl loves baths???

Brother is always playing with her hair. She is annoyed by him constantly and no matter how much we yell at him to leave her alone, he can't stop himself!

They LOVE to wrestle!

She loves being a part of everything. If we are standing, she has to be standing too. If we are sitting, you better believe she is right there on top of us!

I've never seen a bigger Mama's girl than Evelyne! I carry her around constantly because she freaks out if she isn't in my arms!

Ready to hop into her convertible and hit the beach!

Playing light sabers with Austin.

Mom's yoga sessions are always interesting. In this case, we played crawl under the human bridge!

Yet again in the baby wrap.

Austin likes to help with her. He fetches diapers and sometimes feeds her for a couple minutes until he gets bored.

She's a big fan of kisses which is a good thing because you can't stop kissing her once you get started!

I can fly!!!

Waking up Mom and Dad on Sunday morning.

I'm sorry but I LOVE this shirt!

She joined Austin and I in the ranks as a fellow green smoothie lover!

Baby Kimono = PERFECTION!

This year has been a blur. One big fantastic blur. She is getting so big and has such a fun, adorable personality! She is also quickly learning how to use her womanly wiles to get what she wants. For example, if she falls down and nobody reacts to it, she will throw herself onto the ground in a very dramatic fashion and then look around to make sure someone saw it. That's then her cue to fake cry until she gets the sympathy she was looking for. That'a girl ;). (hehe!)
