We had the opportunity to go to our favorite place on Earth with two of our favorite people! Grandma Janis and Grandpa Steve!! It was a trip for the books and we enjoyed every minute of it! They flew into Vegas the day before and then we all got up early and drove for the beach! The boys took one car and the girls drove in the other. It was the only way to fit all of our luggage and passengers into our tiny cars. We talked the whole way to the beach which made the drive go by so fast! We spent that first day playing in the waves and making sandcastles. Austin collected an entire bucket full of seashells and Evie managed to bury her favorite power ranger action figure and we were never able to find it again. Oh such happy memories! It makes me smile just thinking about that day :).
After our afternoon at the beach, we checked into our favorite hotel, The Anaheim Majestic Garden and ate dinner at the cafe there while the kids begged for money to play at the arcade. We had adjoining rooms which was perfect! We had privacy but were also just a door away from seeing the grandparents!
We spent the next day lounging by the pool. The kids literally swam ALL DAY LONG and we STILL had to drag them out of the pool crying when the sun went down! It was such a fun, relaxing day. We read books, talked, and played with the kiddos. It was perfect!
On our last night there, the boys went back to the hotel around dinner time but us girls weren't ready for the fun to be over yet. So Grandma, Evie, and I stayed and had us a girls night out at Disneyland! We ate Halloween flavored churros for dinner (oh my gosh they were to die for) and rode more rides :). I loved how the whole atmosphere of the park changed after dark. Everything was lit up with lights and the spookiness of the season came alive! I didn't want it to end. It was just too perfect of a trip and we all seemed to be soaking it all up as we sat on a park bench eating our Maleficent churro dipped in marshmallow whip and watched all the happy people wandering around the happiest place on Earth. Not even Evie's refusal to walk any further could get me down in that moment and I happily gave her pony rides all around the park :). It's vacations like this that can't be recreated. And I hope our kids will treasure these memories with their Grandparents for the rest of their lives :).
