We've been busy! Summer is winding down and we have been enjoying the beginnings of fall! Yes, temperatures dropping from 115 degrees to 99-100 degrees is our version of "fall is coming!"
Let's start with Labor Day. We had our good friends Jura and Adrien come over for a BBQ/Pool Party and later on my sister Sadie stopped by too! It was hot but the company was good! We had a great time and were sad to see them leave late that night.
| We love our kiddie pool! It allows Austin to run around and gives the adults a few seconds to catch our breath before he tries diving into the adult pool! |
| The Dads, talking business as always. |
| Our babies are getting bigger! They are going to be great friends when they get older. |
| I love this girl to pieces! |
The next day we babysat baby Juliette so her Momma could get some much needed pampering done! Austin loves her so much! He needs a little sister.....
| He wanted to be around her the entire time. He loved petting her and laying down on the blanket next to her. |
We also got to go out to dinner with Grandma Porter, Aunt Briana, and Aunt Sadie at Buffalo Wild Wings! Dad was in heaven because football season has started and there were TV's everywhere showing all the games going on. Austin was in heaven because he got to wear a crown and act like the King of the group, ordering us all around and getting very upset if we didn't hop to it. Or is that how he acts everyday? Hmmm.......
| Future football star! |
| The King wearing his crown :). |
After that, we went to the splash pad to work off all those chicken wings!
| This boy LOVES his Grandma! |
Grandma Ronnenkamp came to visit us! She was a major help to Mom and Austin loved having her here to play with him and give the undivided attention that only a Grandma can give :). She took us out to lunch basically every day, and went with us to fun places like the splash pad and Gymboree!
| Fun at the splash pad! |
| Grandma had never been to a splash pad before. Now she understands our love for it! |
| Once Dad got home from work, we snapped a quick picture before Mom and Dad went out for a date! Babysitting is one of the major perks to having Grandparents visit ;). |
| We went to Settebellos for our date! BEST PIZZA EVER!! We were completely stuffed after eating all that food so we took a walk around The District where they have walkways lit by lamps and lights in the trees, along with quiet music playing in the background. We found ourselves dancing in the moonlight to the music and in that moment felt true bliss :). |
| Austin always ordered macaroni and cheese when we went out to lunch with Grandma. Messy, but worth it! |
| Every night Austin and Grandma would Face-Time with Grandpa Ronnenkamp. Austin loved it! He is a big fan of Grandpa and had lots to tell him! |
Austin started his first Gymboree class! It was a major success and we look forward to every Wednesday when we can go again! There were lots of adorable little kids to play with and the teacher is awesome! We sang songs, played with bubbles, had free time to run around and climb on all the gym toys, and even played with a giant parachute! The moms all lifted the parachute while the little kiddies ran into the middle. It was so adorable! Austin was most interested in the CD player hanging on the wall. He and one other little boy (the one dressed like Superman) just stood there staring at it and dancing to the music while all the other kids were running around playing, totally clueless that there was music playing that must be danced to.
| He loved that ball! |
| But not as much as he loved the jump rope! He literally freaked out when I tried to take it away from him so he could play with other things. |
| Circle time! We sang lots of songs, but all Austin cared about was his jump rope. |
| New friends! That little Superman followed Austin around everywhere. |
| Learning how to jump on the trampoline. |
| The two cuties listening to their music and dancing. |
| Getting ready to parachute! |
| Austin was a bigger fan of being on top of the parachute than being inside it. |
| I was nervously waiting for him to accidentally whip someone with that jump rope but luckily it didn't happen! |
The day after Grandma Ronnenkamp left, Grandma Porter stopped by! She went with us to "Movie in the Park" at The District. It was a beautiful night and although we thought Austin would love watching
Finding Nemo (because he loves fish) he was more interested in running around and making new friends. We were happy to have Grandma there to help chase him!
| Riding on Daddy's shoulders was the best way to contain his wildness. |
| It's too bad Austin blinked or this would be a really cute family picture! |
| Getting snacks from Grandma. |
| We came prepared with lots of treats for the movie! At one point, Grandma was off chasing Austin around so Josh and I laid down on the blanket and talked while eating our goodies. It was a perfect night! |
| The two amigos. |
| We plan on doing this again really soon! |
