A quick collage of our life lately:
MOM
| I got my hair cut and added bangs! Too bad I rarely have time to make it cute like this... |
| I found $1.50 in the McDonald's drive through when I got out of my car to pick up my receipt that had fallen on the ground. Good Karma! |
| I love mornings that start with caffeine and cuddles. But the best part of this picture is my manicured nails! That's a rare sight! |
| I've increased the healthy diet and exercise now that I have weight from the miscarriage to lose.... boo! |
| One of my typical crazy days. I was in the middle of running on the treadmill when Josh called and asked me to meet him for lunch. It was a blur of sweat, shower, makeup, an extra spritz of perfume, and then we were out the door! And of course this was the day Josh wanted to introduce me to his coworkers... Sometimes I wish life would slow down! |
| Excited for Josh to come home so we could go out to dinner! Austin comes with us on our Friday night dates so it's not always romantic but I love any time I get with my boys! |
| Friday mornings are dedicated to Starbucks! I load Austin in the stroller and off we go for a walk up the street to indulge in a little cup of happiness. |
| There is a lot more to this puppy than meets the eye. It has become a comfort object for Austin and whenever he feels sad he finds it and cuddles with it. The other day I lost my temper with him and later found him lying on the floor with his puppy crying. Talk about feeling guilty! |
Austin:
| Acting crazy as usual. |
| He loves to applaud himself whenever he does something silly. |
| He LOVES rolling around on the couch and scaring us to death when he makes attempts to jump off. |
| And then he takes random breaks before the next round begins. |
| He loves playing at the park! We are excited for fall to come so it's not so hot! |
Dad:
| Dad works hard and lately has been working harder than ever! We haven't seen him as much as we'd like to because of the long hours he puts in at the office so we take any time with him we can get! Austin loves his Daddy and he knows when it is time for Dad to come home. He starts saying "Dada, Dada" and points at the back door until his Dad walks in. They truly are two of a kind. I love witnessing their special relationship. |
| Grandpa LaFeber came to visit last weekend and babysat Austin so Dad could take Mom to a movie! We hadn't seen a movie in FOREVER and sadly the one we chose was kinda lame. But it was a night out and we don't complain about that! |
| Dad and Austin love to race up the stairs at bed-time and bath-time. It is so cute! I love how excited Austin gets to try and beat his dad. |
I never have enough pictures of Josh, and since he is a guy, he isn't into taking pictures himself. So I will have to conclude his portion of our life lately in words. Josh is a hard worker. He makes sure the bills are paid, there's food in the fridge, and we are all comfortable and happy as I work as a stay at home Mom. I am so grateful he is doing this for me and that he sees and understands my need to be at home with our baby. Josh is also a wonderful father. The proof is in how excited Austin gets the minute his dad walks in the door. When Josh gets home from work, he helps me with Austin in any way he can. This includes bath-time, bed-time, and keeping Austin entertained so I can make dinner. Josh loves sports (an understatement) and is counting down the days until football season starts next week! He keeps telling me over and over which teams are playing and what food he wants to eat while he spends his entire Labor Day weekend overdosing on football. Josh is all about having a good time which can be hard when you have a little one. So sometimes he feels frustrated that we aren't on a cruise right now, or that we aren't lounging around on a beach somewhere. Not that he doesn't love his son more than life itself, but sometimes the rigors of life gets to you and you wish you could escape somewhere. I miss those days too.... but for now we are enjoying our lives as parents and are making the best of our time doing things a baby would enjoy.
