Milestones: Evelyne is 10 Months Old!

Our 10 month old beauty!

 

Eve at 10 Months:

 

- She's getting four top teeth at the same time :(. She's been pretty sad lately and is VERY obsessed with Mama! I can't put her down without her having a  meltdown and her cries are so dramatic and pathetic it just breaks your heart! She is very much a girl....

 

- Daddy has nicknamed her Gonzowa.... don't ask me, I don't get it either.

 

- Austin calls her Eve, Evie, or my personal favorite, "Edo-wynnn" :)

 

- She has the most beautiful dainty feet and these perfect delicate hands. I love the way she uses her hands, it's like she has already gone through princess prep-school because she uses them like a royal! I don't know how to describe it but she is so graceful.

 

- She crawls all over the place and then suddenly decides to take a break and lays down on the floor for a while. It's so funny! She just lays there, sprawled out with her face down in the carpet! I try to catch pictures of it but her little power naps don't last long.

 

- She is very jealous of Mom and Dad. If Austin is getting some cuddles she is right there begging for some love too!

 

- She officially beat her brother in medical bills at half the age! Who would have thought?! Her last hospitalization issue cost us $5,000!

 

- She is in that fun stage where she can't sit still! the world is just too exciting and she is always wanting to explore. This has made church very difficult, as well as breastfeeding....

 

- The poor girl has to fend off her brother on a regular basis, but she also loves teasing and wrestling with him. We always root for her because we feel so bad for her and all she has to put up with. For some reason Austin is obsessed with her hair and is in time out on an almost hourly basis for pulling it. :(

About to embark on the Carnival Imagination!

We needed a break. Like a lose yourself in the moment, soak up every inch of the sun, sleep in past 6:00am and have absolutely nothing to do once you wake up kind of break. So Josh and I went on a 4 day (kid free) cruise to Mexico!!

Janis and Steve flew in to watch the kids for us since my Mom hasn't been able to help us out anymore with her health issues. I worried about how they would do without us (or more so without me) but luckily our ship didn't have internet or cell phone service so I had to put my phone away and actually enjoy our vacation!

We went to beautiful Catalina Island and wandered around the little island town, sipping on coffee and taking in the beautiful ocean scenery as the sail boats floated by.... Among our wandering we stopped at a little café and shared a piece of marion-berry pie a la mode. It was such a relaxing day! There was absolutely nothing to do but wander.....

Our second port was in Ensenada Mexico! We took a bus up into the wine country and toured a couple vineyards. It was beautiful to say the least. Down by the port the ocean literally splashes up over the rocks that begin the town. Then, as you go higher, the ocean landscape disappears and you find yourself lost in beautiful green vineyards. At the first vineyard we learned how wine is made and stored. It was more commercial like. The second vineyard was our favorite because it was a more relaxed, enjoy yourself kind of atmosphere. We sat on the veranda of the main house, sampling cheese, bread, and different legit Mexican salsas. As we sat, I played with the chickens wandering around freely and we were entertained by this random wild Aztec man who started singing, dancing, and chanting with incense and a conch. It couldn't have been more picturesque!

The rest of the time was spent on the ship lounging/reading on deck in the sun, snacking all throughout the day at the buffet, eating fancy dinners at night, and going on morning runs on the top deck track alongside the ocean! It was exactly what we needed :)!

We were excited to come home and see the kids, but that excitement quickly faded when we found the baby to be sick with a chest cold and a toddler who decided to make it his life's goal to punish us for leaving him.... It was Superbowl Sunday and as hard as we tried to keep our cool with Austin and enjoy the big game with the Grandparents, tension was running high and we couldn't wait for Janis and Steve to leave the next day so we could get our life back in order.
