Ashly turned 28!!!

Josh watched the kids so I could actually get ready for the day without the usual craziness! It was wonderful! I chose to wear my Great Grandma Thayer's jewelry because I was really missing her and wishing she could be there with us to celebrate and to tell me how proud of me she is for how far I've come in 28 years....

I turned 28 this Saturday and it was fantastic! I seriously had the best birthday weekend. It was better than last years because I didn't have to work, but mostly it was just great because I was surrounded by those I love and we had some good old fashioned fun! There was no chores, no work, no worries! Just lots of sugar and lots of laughing :).

Josh made me breakfast in bed that morning which was great for about two minutes but the kids made it impossible for me to eat. Josh on the other hand, ate all his food with no problems! I wanted so badly to ask him if he saw something wrong with this picture but I didn't want to cause problems on my happy day so I just took a few bites and moved on. Plus, there were presents to open! Austin stole everything from me before I could get a chance to really look at it, but as far as I know, I got a gift card, movies, and essential oils!

Austin loves to hang out in our bed. It's so cute! Meanwhile, Evie was on the floor crying for me to pick her up...

Breakfast in bed. The picture before the chaos hahaha!

Then Briana came to babysit so Josh and I could go out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory! It was delicious and I actually got to enjoy a meal for once!

Love this guy so much!

Mmmmm.... cheesecake!

Blowing out the candles and making a wish!

When we got back, Briana gave me an AMAZING deep tissue massage which was much needed. I have had a lot of back pain lately and going to the chiropractor didn't help :(. It's pretty nice having a massage therapist in the family!

Once we were done with the massage, Sadie and Trevor (Briana's boyfriend) were downstairs and we all went to a little cupcake shop called Showboy Cupcakes and each picked out a fun cupcake! Well, everybody but Sadie and Austin who wanted cookies.... They were super yummy and it was a really fun experience!

Inside the cupcake shop, trying to make the tough decision of which cupcake to choose!

The strange ones and their cookies....

Dad wasn't paying attention and Eve ate his cupcake! I'm not kidding when I say she is lightning fast when it comes to food!

Trying to get a group picture with my new selfie stick! It was really windy!

We sat outside and ate our cupcakes and then headed back to the house for a game of basketball at the park! It was a windy day but we all had such a great time! Seriously, we were laughing so hard at how horrible we have all become at sports hahaha! Austin threw the Frisbee around while we played on the court and Eve wandered around eating rocks and whatnot..... :).

Briana bought me a selfie stick for my birthday but for some reason my phone wouldn't work with it! So I had to use Josh's phone. Austin thought it was fun!

It was getting dark and we had worked up an appetite so we came back to the house and ate whatever we could find in the fridge. We laughed and talked and laughed some more. Trevor is getting more comfortable with us now and had us all laughing so hard!

I went to bed sleepy and completely happy and content with my life. That's how you know it was a good day! I can't wait to see what this year has in store and I know as long as I have my family we can't go wrong!

LaFeber Life Lately

- Austin talks in third person and it is so cute!

- He is also driving us insane with all his destructive energy! We have been so grateful for this beautiful spring weather because we have been at our wits end! Just take a look at the picture below of what he did to his bedroom!

- I threw a baby shower for my cousin Naomi! It was a lot of fun and I was pretty proud of the diaper cake centerpiece I made :).

- We have been dealing with sickness since we got home from our cruise which has been a major bummer. But luckily that's over and hopefully since spring is here we won't have to go through that again for a while!

- Austin has an imaginary friend who is a badger and his name is Badger. He talks about him all the time. For example, the other day one of our cupboards slammed and he turned around and told me Badger did it. Or when he realized the water wasn't working at the splash pad, he told me Badger stole the batteries. He cracks us up!

- We have been spending most of our days outside, trying to wear out the kids and soaking up the sun :). Life is good!

Our life summed up in pictures! We have been so busy having so much fun!!!

Going for a hike while Austin was staying at Grandma's house.

Relaxing with Dad and eating some chips!

We love us some park time!

There is a little café by the park where we always get a donut :).

I've been working on myself through yoga and I have been loving it!!

Austin learned how to make blueberry muffins from his BABYBOYBAKERY monthly cooking kit! It was so much fun and they were delicious!

measuring out the ingredients.

They're ready to go in the oven!

The final product!

He was so proud of himself :).

Smells good!

I've also been taking lots of walks with the kids that usually end up at Starbucks!

The weather has just been too good to be true!

Eve got her first experience eating a lime and it was hilarious! She seemed to hate it but when I tried to take it away from her she got really upset!

We had fun visiting Grandma out in Logandale and playing in her yard!

Austin has missed Grandma's dogs, especially "baby puppy". At home he pulls around Evie's little toy dog and pretends like he is walking baby puppy. Close enough I guess haha!

We got to see some baby chicks!

Soooo soft and fluffy!

This little guy is turning into one funny kid! We have had so much fun watching his personality develop and the conversations are hilarious!

Reading bed time stories with Daddy.

Daddy needed to change the light bulb and Austin was sooo worried he would fall, so he got up there with him to hold him steady :).

We LOVE sidewalk chalk! We've decorated the whole neighborhood!

Austin has had a problem with destroying his bedroom whenever he was supposed to be taking naps. We had to finally put the fear of God into him, so to speak, and he doesn't do that anymore.....

Poor sleepy Mommy.... both kids were sick with Strep throat and a bronchial infection so I basically didn't sleep that week.

Austin LOVES to catch the rain! He gets so excited! I love seeing life through his eyes!

I will try anything at this point to keep my cool..... it's not easy.

Austin woke me up at 5am asking to build forts! Yayyy.....

We have so much fun at the park! Eve loves to sit in the grass and watch us play catch.

Austin has a great artistic side! He loves to color, paint, and loves shows about music, especially classical music!

Trying to be healthy with some green smoothies. Austin loves them!

Eve is standing and getting into everything!

We found an acorn tree! Austin was so excited to pick nuts for all the squirrels!

Helping mom do the dishes :).

Life with this kid is always interesting!

He has so many personalities!

Letting out our inner crazy!

The sweetest girl you'll ever meet.

I'll cuddle with her any chance I can get!

Cuddling with Austin is almost non-existent which makes it even more special!

This NEVER happens! So I had to snap a picture of it for proof!

I hosted a baby shower for Naomi! It was so much fun and turned out so cute!

We go for walks on this trail behind our house daily. We love it because it is so peaceful and we don't have to worry about cars!

These two love to be outside! they are always covered in dirt! I probably look like the worst Mom, but I swear they get baths daily!
